Radar reveals extent of lost Egyptian city
An Austrian archaeological team has used radar imaging to determine the extent of the ruins of a 3,500-year-old Egyptian city.
The City was the capital of Egypt's foreign occupiers the Hyksos, who originated from Asia, they ruled for a century from 1664-1569 B.C.
The radar imaging determines how far the underground city extends, showing the outlines of streets, houses and temples underneath the now green farm fields and modern town of Tel al-Dabaa.
Tel al-Dabaa is heavily populated and the main farming land in the country, making excavation difficult therefore making non-invasive imaging the most ecological method of excavation. Archaelogists has been working on the site since 1975.
